Story Arts Academy is a new initiative launched in 2025 to bring the story development skills and methods of feature animated films to a new generation of storytellers, and designed from 25 years of direct experience doing it and teaching it across the industry.

The first class offering is “Story Artist Foundations”, an 18-week course focused on building the core story and filmmaking skills required of entry level story artists at a feature animation studio.

While designed from methods used at studios like Pixar, Disney, Sony, and more - it’s built in a way to teach core concepts that can be adapted to all forms of audio-visual storytelling.

Technologies change in how we deliver and create stories, by the fundamental principles behind great storytelling decisions are an evergreen foundation to build on.
